German cloud and hosting firm Hetzner has completed the expansion of its Finish data center campus. It has also broken ground on other buildings on the same campus. Earlier in July, Hetzner completed the development of a new building at the Tuusula campus which is to the north of Helsinki. It also has another building in the works that will be in operation by early 2022.
According to Hetzner, the groundwork for two more buildings is complete, with the first building scheduled to be in operation in Q1 2023. The People Operations Manager at Hetzner, Riikka Huhtaniitty, said the pandemic from 2020 accelerated the company’s growth, thereby almost doubling the firm’s headcount. She noted that the company would have to double its headcount by recruiting more staff when the other facilities are in operation. Hetzner plans to develop ten buildings on the 1.6 million square feet (150,000 square meters) campus.
