Google has reportedly agreed to take capacity at an Nscale data center in West London, UK. The facility is separate from those that OpenAI had previously been expected to lease from Nscale in the country.According to a Bloomberg report, citing a source familiar with the matter, the agreement will give Google access to Nscale’s Grace Blackwell GPUs. DCD has contacted both Google and Nscale for comment.

The report follows news that OpenAI has withdrawn from a previous agreement to lease space at several yet-to-be-built Nscale data centers in the UK. Nscale’s website currently lists two UK locations: one in Loughton, Essex, northeast of London, and another in Slough, to the west of the capital.

The Loughton site was acquired in early 2025 and is reported to have an initial power capacity of 50MW, scalable to 90MW. Currently under construction, it is targeting a go-live date by the end of 2026. Microsoft is also planning to build a supercomputer at the site with more than 23,000 GPUs. As part of a £2.5 billion ($3 billion) commitment to the UK, the company has also said it will develop multiple modular data centers across the country, though specific locations have not been disclosed.
