Facebook is building a fifth data center on their campus in Altoona Iowa. The company expect to invest $400 million to build a 1 million sqft H-shapped data center.
Altoona City Council approved a deal that would make Facebook exempt from paying property taxes on the new building for 20 years. But Facebook will pay the city $3 per square foot (about $3 million) per year during that 20-year period once construction is complete.
