Equinix: Equinix signs new solar PPAs in Singapore

Colocation firm Equinix has signed long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to procure renewable energy in Singapore fromSembcorp Industries. Following the agreements, Sembcorp Power will supply a maximum capacity of 75MWp from its solar assets and 30MW from its gas-power generation portfolio to Equinix for up to 18 years.

Raouf Abdel, EVP global operations, Equinix, said: “Equinix made our commitment to 100 percent clean and renewable energy in 2015 and since then, we have been continuously exploring new opportunities to scale and improve the quality of those resources. Our recent PPA agreements in Singapore and Australia are significant steps toward our 2030 goal of 100 percent clean and renewable coverage globally.”
