Equinix Opens New Data Center in Monterrey, Mexico

Data center firm Equinix this week inaugurated its new MO2 data center in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. A $250 million investment, MO2 center offers more than 30,000 square feet (2,785 sqm) of colocation space.

"Since our arrival in Mexico in 2020, we have focused on strengthening and modernizing the region's digital ecosystem," said Amet Novillo Suarez, Equinix's managing director for Mexico. "The MO2 is Equinix's answer to the growing demand for connectivity, security, and efficient data management, consolidating our leadership in interconnection and colocation services."


"With the launch of MO2 and the recent availability of Equinix Fabric in Monterrey, local customers now have the opportunity to leverage secure and direct connectivity to major hubs like Mexico City, Dallas, and numerous other global metros. This positions Monterrey as an exciting and dynamic hub for innovation and business expansion," added Eduardo Carvalho, managing director of Equinix LATAM.
