Edgenet has launched in Mexico with aims to deploy a network of 30 Edge data centers across the country. Last week, the company announced the launch of Mayia, the first artificial intelligence (AI) center with the "Made in Mexico" designation, awarded by the Ministry of Economy.

“Basically, our proposal for the country is defined as democratizing access to high-performance digital services; accelerating the digital transformation of sectors such as manufacturing, government, healthcare, and education; strengthening Mexico's technological sovereignty with world-class local infrastructure; creating jobs; fostering regional innovation; and bridging the digital divide,” Sandra Márquez, CEO of Edgenet Data Technologies, told local press.

"They had an infrastructure of 52 data centers, they had overcapacity, and they're in a period of global reconfiguration, so this opportunity arose, and we selected 30, covering almost the entire country," said Verónica Viniegra, general manager of Mayia and Flai at Edgenet Data Technologies
