EdgeConneX Santa Clara: EdgeConneX Acquires Expansion Facilities in Santa Clara

Aug 19, 2020 | Posted by Eric Bell

EdgeConneX has bought 3 buildings in Santa Clara totaling 229,000 square feet. The Mercury News reports that "An EdgeConneX affiliate, EdgeConneX Silicon Valley Holdings II, paid $83.3 million for the buildings, Santa Clara County documents filed on Aug. 14 show."

  • 1700 Richard Ave: Current EdgeConneX data center (and former SVcolo site)
  • 1688 Richard Ave: Currently a Foxconn site, but a potential expansion
  • 1600 Memorex Dr: Potential expansion

Given the demand in Santa Clara, Edgeconnex will be able to sell the space. The harder part perhaps will be moving the current tenants out of the current leases.
