According to Bloomberg, Equinix and DigitalBridge are the final two companies looking to buy Time Dotcom’s data center business. The companies are looking to sign an agreement to take over the business called Aims Data Centre within the next few weeks. Per sources, Time Dotcom might also retain a stake in the business. However, no decisions have been made on the deal as it could still fall apart or face delays.
Malaysian company Time Dotcom is backed by Khazanag Nasional Bds., a Malaysian sovereign wealth fund. BDx, KKR, Tower Capital Asia, Digital Edge, STT GDC, Equinix, and Temasek Holdings were the company's potential buyers in a deal worth up to $600m. Aims Data Centers offers disaster recovery, managed services, and colocation services from three data centers in Malaysia, two in Cyberjaya and one in Kuala Lumpur. It also operates one facility in Bangkok, Thailand, and three more data centers in Vietnam.
