Digital Parks Africa Expands Into Nigeria With Planned Lagos Data Center

South African data center operator Digital Parks Africa is expanding into Nigeria with plans for a new facility in Lagos. The carrier-neutral site, called Nigeria Data Centre 1 (NDC1), will mark the company’s entry into West Africa. Details such as its exact location and capacity have not yet been disclosed.

Menno Parsons, Digital Parks Africa’s founder and CEO, said: “Our investment in Nigeria is much more than a new facility. It is the next step in our longstanding commitment to the region, and for our broader vision for Africa’s digital future. Over the last two decades operating in Nigeria, we have a clear understanding of the market and of the need for infrastructure that can keep pace with businesses and the growing digital ecosystem. Through NDC1, we are building on that foundation and strengthening our ability to enable an increasingly connected African economy.”

Founded in 2017, South African operator Digital Parks Africa runs a data center in Centurion, near Pretoria. The company recently partnered with neocloud Stratos Lab and infrastructure provider Ecoblox to host more than 50 Nvidia B300 GPU servers. It also recently hosted a Bull M8R2 cluster for Data Sciences Corporation, reportedly the first Bull system deployed in Africa.
