DataVita has revealed that it will be opening a new data center in Glasgow. The company will be occupying space at a newly developed 14-story building located at 177 Bothwell Street. The building spans 29,000 square meters (313,000 square feet) and is said to be the largest single office building in Glasgow. According to reports, DataVita has invested around £6 million ($7.5m) in moving into the office, which its owner has already developed.
The Scottish data center firm is offering around 130 racks of space at the facility. The data center is also scheduled to be in operation by Q3 2022. The managing director at DataVita, Danny Quinn, said the new facility at 177 Bothwell Street is a massive part of the company’s growth plan. According to him, the data center being at the city's heart will help support the building’s capabilities while also supporting the increasing demand from IoT, telecoms, and smart city technologies providers looking for state-of-the-art data center services in Glasgow.
