DataBank Pittsburgh PIT2: DataBank completes the expansion of its PIT2 data center in Pittsburgh

DataBank has expanded its PIT2 data center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, by adding 25,000 square feet of raised floor space to the facility. The company also added an extra 2.5MW capacity to the facility to bring its total floor space and capacity to 40,000 square feet and 4.5MW respectively. The expansion was done to meet the ever-growing demand for mission-critical IT infrastructure in the market.
Vice President of engineering at DataBank, Danny Allen, stated that it was estimated that local enterprises had invested over $2 billion into R&D in Pittsburgh. He added that the investment is pushing the need for connectivity, colocation, and cloud services and, it makes Pittsburgh an exciting location for enterprise-class data centers.

The site is located on ten acres, giving DataBank the opportunity to expand to meet future growth. In addition, DataBank operates the facility to meet the FISMA (Federal Information Security Management Act) compliance standard.
