Data4 has announced the launch of its new data center campus outside Warsaw in Poland. The Polish facility, at full build-out, will offer 60MW across 15,000 sqm.
Data4's new data center, located in Jawczyce near Warsaw, was first announced back in July 2021 and has seen a total investment of PLN 1 billion. Built on four-hectares, the campus will feature four facilities, the first data center with a capacity of 8 MW.
Speaking about the opening of the campus, Olivier Micheli, CEO of Data4 Group, said that it will allow the company to realize its ambitions to remain a "leading pan-European player" in the data center sector.
"Recognizing the needs of hosting in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Poland was an obvious market for Data4 for further development. The importance of the Warsaw region in the data center sector is growing rapidly and may soon be as important as Italy or Spain," he said.
Meanwhile, Adam Ponichtera, director of the Polish branch of Data4, said the company is preparing to build a second center that will strengthen the Polish campus. "We hope that further implementation of the investment, the total value of which exceeds PLN 1 billion, will allow us to better meet the needs of the Polish market, and we will be able to continue supporting our clients in the digital revolution,” explained Ponichtera.
“I am pleased that Data4 has chosen Jawczyce and the commune of Ożarów Mazowiecki for its first investment in Poland, which will be one of the largest in our region. I believe that thanks to this cooperation, our city will be able to fully use its huge potential,” commented Paweł Kanclerz, Mayor of Ożarów Mazowiecki.
