Data Center Operators are Hiring Laid-off Meta Platforms Workers

May 22, 2026 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

Several data center operators have pointed to open roles after Meta Platforms began laying off around 8,000 employees, about 10% of its workforce. The cuts affected staff across all levels, including some in data center roles. On LinkedIn, multiple data center firms expressed support for affected workers and highlighted hiring opportunities, with some companies even staffed by former Meta employees.

"So sorry to see so many of my friends and former associates at FB being let go, consider Vantage as your new home," Vantage MEP James Montgomery said. It's a lot like FB was in the old days when I first worked there, and is in a growth mode too, so a lot of opportunity."

Aligned Data Centers regional director Nathan Tincher said: "To any of my former Metamates that were impacted please feel free to reach out. Once the dust settles, and you feel it’s appropriate, I’d love to help you find your next way, if it’s with Aligned Data Centers or elsewhere, and would happily help with connections where I can. "This is a tough time in what feels like an endless cycle of layoffs there, but I’m confident there’s a great next step for you."

Several data center companies are actively hiring across multiple disciplines, including commissioning, engineering, utilities, facilities management, design, construction, preconstruction, and procurement, according to Tincher. Fluidstack infrastructure programs lead Kassi Bogle said the company has multiple open roles and is seeking experienced candidates. OVHcloud also noted job opportunities in the UK and other regions.
