Jul 08, 2026 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

Cypriot telecommunications provider Cyta has acquired the RedMax data center in the Latsia Industrial Area near Nicosia. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. RedMax, an IT and telecoms company founded in 2004, launched the first phase of its RedOne data center in December 2025.

Located at 193 Giannou Kranidioti Avenue, RedOne features 1,300 sqm (13,993 sq ft) of white space and can support up to 420 racks. The facility uses air cooling for densities of up to 7kW and is powered by a 2MW on-site substation, along with 640kWp of solar PV and battery storage.

Cyta plans to expand the RedOne facility, with the first phase of new infrastructure expected to go live in early 2027. Once completed, the company said it will become the largest privately owned data center in Cyprus. The state-owned telecom operator, founded in 1955, provides fiber networks, nationwide 5G services, and operates subsea cables and landing stations. Cyta also acquired a 1MW data center in Larnaca from Simplex last year and runs another facility in Nicosia.redone_cyprus.width-358.webp
