Continent 8 has announced that it is going to expand its data center portfolio in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This comes following the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority board of directors giving the facility the green light. This facility, which will span 5,330 sqft, will be its third facility in the city.

According to reports, one board member voted against the proposal. CRDA board member Edward Gant outlined concerns about the modular design and raised the issue that employment would be given to outside workers, rather than local workers.

Speaking about the expansion, the company said: “I think that this is a good project for Atlantic City. It’s a good project for the CRDA.” It will reportedly serve as a hub for online gaming.
