Colt Data Centre Services announce 45MW data center outside Osaka, Japan

Colt Data Centre Services has broken ground on a new 42,000 sqm (452,000 sq ft) data center outside Osaka, Japan. The facility will have 45MW of capacity, and it will be in Keihanna Science City. According to the Company, the facility will be in operations by 2023.

VP Head of APAC at Colt Data Centre Services, Padraig MacColgain, said acquiring the site is another milestone for the Company. He added that the acquisition shows the Company’s hyperscale strategy while cementing its foothold in APAC. Padraig also made it known that the land acquired was not initially available for data centers since Keihanna Science City is reserved for research and development. He added that the support of Kyoto Prefectural authorities made the acquisition possible.

Colt Data Centre Services has 44 sites in 16 regions.
