Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT) has announced that it sold a data center in Manassas, Virginia, for $222.5 million. The buying firm is CloudHQ’s investment arm. COPT revealed that it sold the DC-6 facility to Cloud Capital, CloudHQ’s affiliate company. The data center is a two-story building that spans across 233,000 square feet of space. In addition, it has 100,000 square feet of raised floor space, including 19.25MW of capacity. Corporate Office Properties Trust bought the DC-6 data center in 2010 from Power Loft for $115 million.
The CEO and President of COPT, Stephen E. Budorick, said the company is happy to be transferring the data center to the Cloud Capital team. He added that Cloud Capital had been very professional during the acquisition process while also promising that tenants at the facility would be well-served. The DC-6 facility was the only asset in COPT’s Wholesale Data Center reporting segment. The facility is also COPT’s only multi-tenant data center.
