According to Bloomberg, Charoen Pokphand Group is looking to sell its data center unit- True Internet Data Center (True IDC). Bloomberg also reports that the Thai conglomerate wants to raise around $200 million from the sale. True IDC operates one data center in Myanmar and four in Thailand. The data center firm’s facilities in Thailand are located in Ratchada, Bangna, Pattanakam, and Muangthong. It also opened its Myanmar facility in Yangon in 2015.
This will not be the first news of a potential sale of data center portfolios in the Asia Pacific region. Globe Telecom, PLDT, and Indosat are reportedly seeking to sell off their data center businesses.
