PLDT is considering selling its data centers for $500m

One of the biggest telcos in the Philippines, PLDT, is considering selling its data centers for approximately $500 million. PLDT has a total of ten data centers with a combined capacity of 72MW. Bloomberg reports that the Company is taking advice on a deal to sell these facilities potentially. It is also considering selling its cellphone towers.

The ten data centers are currently being run by a subsidiary of PLDT called ePLDT. According to Bloomberg, JP Morgan has been asked to advise on a potential deal to sell the data centers. The potential deal is also to include a lease back on the data centers.

ePLDT has 12 sites.
