CGI recently announced the launch of its new digital twin platform dubbed the CGI DataTwin360, which creates virtualized models of companies' hosting platforms. This twin platform helps users understand and reduce the carbon footprint of hosting platforms by providing real-time data and carbon accounting insights, collecting data from multiple sources like the Internet of Things, sensors, and system log information.
Regulations, including the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting EU Directive (CSRD), will require companies to provide detailed reports on their carbon usage. The DataTwin360 enables this in real-time through a dashboard and 3D model.
Mattie Yeta, chief sustainability officer for CGI in the UK, said: "Through close collaboration with our clients, we have been able to identify the challenges they are facing when working towards their net zero goals. CGI DataTwin360 empowers organizations to accelerate progress against net-zero by bringing together complex data sets to make them understandable and ultimately actionable."
