Thai energy producer B.Grimm Power (BGRIM) plans to offer energy solutions to Thailand's growing data center sector and is currently in talks with several firms. BGRIM intends to spend between 5 billion baht ($145 million) and 7 billion baht ($203 million) to support its expansion into the data center power market.
"We aim to forge energy partnerships with data center operators," said Nopadej Karnasuta, president for domestic market and industrial solutions, BGRIM. In addition, BGRIM plans to sign Power Purchase Agreements with data center firms nationwide to supply up to 310MW of power.
The company also plans to increase its total power supply to 10GW from 4GW from its power plants in 15 countries. Most of this new capacity will be renewable, including solar, wind, and hydroelectric power. In 2025 alone, the company expects to add 900MW of new power supply.
