Australia’s CDC has Opened a New Data Center Campus in Melbourne

CDC, one of Australia’s largest data center companies, has opened a campus in Brooklyn, Melbourne. The two-facility campus was inaugurated last Thursday with government officials in attendance, including Australia’s assistant treasurer, Daniel Mulino.

CDC has not disclosed details about the campus’s current capacity. However, according to a LinkedIn post by Australia’s Minister for Finance, Danny Pearson, the new Melbourne campus will add 155MW of capacity to the company’s portfolio.

Information about the campus is vague. According to the CDC’s website, the site has been operational since 2024 and is set to provide over 350MW of capacity at completion.

CDC has also stated its intention to provide more than 800MW of capacity in Melbourne. It is currently building a second campus in Laverton, located in the west of the city, close to Brooklyn.
