Apple has signed a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with renewable energy developer Engie in Southern Italy. The deal will support the construction of four new renewable projects and a wind repowering project; two wind farms with a combined capacity of 74MW, a wind repowering project with a capacity of 11MW, and two agrivoltaic plants with a combined capacity of 88MW.

“This agreement with Apple demonstrates Engie’s ambition to lead the energy transition by delivering innovation with diverse technologies. Through strategic partnerships like this one, we are accelerating the shift toward a carbon-neutral future, accompanying our clients in their sustainability journey,” said Edouard Neviaski, EVP of GBU supply and energy management at Engie.

The Italian portfolio is part of Engie's broader renewable energy and storage development plan, which aims to support the installation of 1.6GW of capacity by 2030. According to the company, it has a portfolio of 773MW of capacity in operation or under construction in the country. This includes 18 solar projects with a combined capacity of 250MW, 20 wind farms with a capacity of 474MW, and four battery storage projects with a capacity of 49MW.
