Sentinel Grove Technology Park

The proposed Sentinel Grove Technology Park (Project Jarvis) is a massive data center campus planned for a 1,218-acre former citrus grove outside Fort Pierce in St. Lucie County, Florida, representing a potential $13.5 billion long-term private capital investment. The project, which could include up to 15 million sq ft of development, is championed by landowners and developers who argue the site is uniquely positioned to meet the high demand from global technology firms for large, power-adjacent acreage.

Despite county staff recommending approval, the project recently faced a significant setback when the St. Lucie County Planning and Zoning Commission voted 4-2 to recommend against approving the necessary comprehensive plan amendment to rezone the currently agricultural land. Additionally, the development would not use county utilities, instead requiring private, self-contained facilities for its water and wastewater needs. The commission's vote introduces significant uncertainty regarding the approval and future of this large-scale technology initiative.
