Polarnode, a Finnish data center developer, is advancing a data center project in Heinola as part of a strategic partnership with the city. Located on an 11-hectare industrial plot in the northern section of the Vierumäki Business Park (specifically on Heikinmäentie), the site is being developed using a partnership model to support high-density computing and AI-driven workloads.
The project emphasizes sustainability through the potential utilization of waste heat for local district heating and is powered by Finland’s robust renewable energy grid. Following a cooperation agreement established in May 2025, the project is currently in the planning and reservation phase, with the goal of reaching construction readiness by early 2026.
