IXAfrica buys 11 acres for second Nairobi data center facility

EcoCloud has initiated construction of the 'Project Eagle' data center at the KenGen Green Energy Park in Olkaria, Kenya. Upon completion, this facility will be Africa's first data center fully powered by geothermal energy, as stated by energy provider KenGen. Phase one will consist of eight data halls, each housing 300 to 500 racks. Designed for a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.25 or lower, the data center will utilize an air-cooled chilled water system for efficient cooling.
