Go to PodcastProject management firm ADW Johnson has filed a SEARS planning application with the New South Wales government to develop the Kurri Kurri Data Centre, a proposed hyperscale facility in Loxford, Australia.
Spanning a 21-hectare parcel on the former Hydro Aluminium Kurri Kurri Smelter site, the project involves constructing a large two-story facility supported by two dedicated substations connecting directly to AusGrid’s existing 132 kV transmission line. Strategically situated adjacent to Snowy Hydro’s 660 MW gas power station, this brownfield redevelopment repurposes remediated heavy-industrial land to deliver large-scale digital infrastructure and drive economic regeneration in the Hunter Region.
