Asia Pacific Land (APL) Group and Global Compute Infrastructure (GCI) have formed a joint venture to develop a data center campus in Kyushu, Japan. This new campus is designed to meet the growing demands for hyperscale, AI, and cloud infrastructure across East Asia.

The initial phase of the project, situated on a 15.5-acre (6.3-hectare) site in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, is projected to be operational by September 2027. The venture also has plans to expand the campus by 2029, capitalizing on Kyushu's cost-effective electricity, abundant renewable energy sources, and its strategic connectivity to key regional markets like Busan, Korea.
