The GARBE.DC Leopoldsdorf data center is a reported second data center planned in a commercial zone in Leopoldsdorf, in Lower Austria's Bruck an der Leitha district south of Vienna, a few hundred metres from a separate facility already approved for the same area. The project was disclosed publicly by the local mayor, though the German developer behind it, formerly operating as NDC-Garbe, has told press that no concrete plans exist, leaving the project's status unclear. The required special-purpose zoning designation for data centers had not been granted as of the most recent reporting. The project has drawn opposition from the neighbouring municipality over noise, landscape impact, and unused waste heat, with a local petition launched against both planned facilities.
