Civo: Hertfordshire

Under ConstructionProspective Expansion
New facility under constructionfacility with prospective expansion planned
Operated by:

Civo: Hertfordshire

Year Planned: 2027

The facility occupies an existing building in Hertfordshire, north of London, where fit-out is underway rather than new construction. It is designed for direct-to-chip liquid cooling, with coolant carried across a plate in contact with the silicon, an approach chosen to support the high-density NVIDIA hardware the site is built around. Civo states that each site in its network is modeled with computational fluid dynamics before work begins, and that the design scales by module rather than being reworked for each hardware generation. The site is positioned for low-latency inference close to UK users. Opening is targeted for the first quarter of 2027.

Civo grew out of the UK hosting sector, founded by Mark Boost after his earlier venture LCN.com, and went to market around 2020 with a managed Kubernetes platform positioned as a simpler, lower-cost alternative to the large hyperscalers. Its range spans public cloud compute, databases and load balancers, GPU services under the Civo AI line, and private cloud products including CivoStack Enterprise and FlexCore. The company holds SOC 2, ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications and supplies UK public sector buyers through G-Cloud. Historically a tenant in third-party facilities, Civo has more recently moved toward operating its own edge data center estate, beginning in Hertfordshire.
