The Volcengine Taihang Computing Center is an industrial data campus located in the Guangling County Economic Development Zone in Datong, Shanxi Province. Developed by Volcengine (Datong) Technology Co., Ltd. (a Content OperatorInterested in this information?Contact us subsidiary), the facility serves as a primary hub for training large language models and supporting the company's AI services.

The campus is being developed in two distinct stages. Phase I launched in May 2023 and comprises four data center buildings. The significantly larger Phase II expansion received its construction permit in January 2025 and will add six two-story data centers and a six-story integrated facility, covering over 205,000 square meters.

To support high-density AI workloads, the technical infrastructure includes 12kW server racks, dedicated diesel generator buildings for redundancy, and an on-site 220 kV substation to manage the campus's intensive power requirements.
