The VIRTUS Slough campus sits on the Slough Trading Estate, about 25 miles west of central London and 2 miles from Junction 6 of the M4. Its buildings stand on Liverpool Road, Buckingham Avenue, Berkshire Avenue, Malton Avenue and Ipswich Road, within about 550 m of each other.

Land and ownership

  • SEGRO owns the estate. It develops powered-shell buildings that VIRTUS leases and fits out. VIRTUS is SEGRO's largest customer on the estate by rent.
  • Infinity SDC built the first building on Liverpool Road. VIRTUS bought that business in December 2015 and has added new SEGRO buildings since 2017.
  • ST Telemedia Global Data Centres has owned VIRTUS since 2017. Macquarie Asset Management has held a stake of about 40% since December 2022.
  • In March 2026 SEGRO signed a pre-let with VIRTUS for a further three-floor, 30,000 m2 powered shell, consented under the estate's Simplified Planning Zone.

Power and shared infrastructure

  • SSE Energy Solutions owns and runs the estate's private electricity network, rated at 240 MVA, and the Slough Heat and Power plant. SSE plans a new 300 MVA transmission connection by 2029 and a further 500 MVA from 2030.
  • National Grid's Iver substation feeds the estate through 132 kV circuits.
  • The Liverpool Road buildings share one Environment Agency permit (EPR/BP3945QX) for 47 diesel standby generators with 281.95 MWth of thermal input. The Malton Avenue and Ipswich Road buildings hold separate permits.
  • The 2026 SEGRO agreement includes a 50 MVA supply, which VIRTUS contracts directly.

Tenants

  • The Jisc Shared Data Centre, used by about 25 UK academic and research organisations, is on the campus.
