Tencent: Chongqing Shuitu Campus

Tencent's Chongqing campus (Tencent West China Cloud Computing Data Center) is in the Shuitu Hi-Tech Industrial Park of Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area. It is part of the Liangjiang Shuitu International Data Port cluster with China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom and Inspur. The campus covers about 250 mu (about 41 acres), bounded by Taihe Road, Yunhan Avenue, Yunding Road and Cloud Computing No. 1 Road. Tencent calls it its main data center and network hub for southwest China. The operating entity is Chongqing Tencent Information Technology Co., Ltd.

Phase 1. Ground broke on 10 June 2015 on a 150-mu lot. The plan called for about 100,000 m² of buildings, including a 5,000 m² office. Investment was about RMB 3 billion. MIIT named it a National Green Data Center in 2020.

Phase 2. Construction of a 107-mu, 74,000 m² expansion began in April 2020. It uses Tencent's fourth-generation T-Block prefabricated design and forms Tencent's first Tbase park in southwest China. All four data hall buildings topped out in January 2021. Investment was about RMB 4.5 billion.

Power. State Grid Chongqing (Beibei Power Supply Company) serves the campus. It built a dedicated 110 kV customer substation for Phase 2. The Shuitu park has two 220 kV and five 110 kV substations. In 2021 Tencent said the campus runs on 100% renewable electricity, the first large data center park in Chongqing to do so.
