Data Center Campus
Segro's planned two-building data center campus on the A4 Bath Road frontage of the Slough Trading Estate, replacing six vacant office blocks at 188-216 Bath Road. Planning approved in 2024, with buildings planned through 2030.
Segro's Bath Road campus sits on the A4 Bath Road frontage at the south-eastern corner of the Slough Trading Estate, at the junction with Galvin Road, about 1.8 km north-west of Slough town centre. The 5.46-hectare (13.5-acre) site held six office buildings at 188-216 Bath Road, the former homes of Unatrac, Ipsen, BlackBerry, UCB and Black & Decker, which stood vacant after their occupiers downsized or moved.
Segro has owned the trading estate since 1920. It develops data centres there as powered shells that operators fit out. Slough Borough Council's planning committee voted unanimously on 29 May 2024 to grant Segro's hybrid application P/20367/001. The first data centre has full permission and the second has outline permission. Each building gets its own substation, plant enclosure and generator gantry, and the air quality assessment modelled 53 standby diesel generators across the campus. Segro was demolishing the office buildings in late 2025. No occupier has been announced.
Power comes through the trading estate's private electricity network, owned and run by SSE's Slough Heat and Power. SSE rates the network at 240 MVA and is adding new transmission connections. Kao Data, Digital Realty, NTT and Global Technical Realty run data centres on the neighbouring Galvin Road and Ajax Avenue plots.
