Meta's Luleå campus sits on Porsön, north of central Luleå in Norrbotten, beside Luleå University of Technology and the Aurorum science park, just south of the Arctic Circle. It was Facebook's first data center outside the United States, announced and started in 2011.

Land and ownership. Meta owns and operates the campus through Swedish subsidiaries. Pinnacle Sweden AB bought a further 36,167 m² from Luleå kommun in 2018 for the third building, after a 2017 zoning change. Geieren Sweden AB bought four neighbouring office properties on Datavägen and Nätverksvägen in 2021-2022. Meta states its Luleå investment at more than SEK 8.7 billion.

Power. Luleå Energi Elnät built a 130 kV line from Notviken to Porsön (400 m overhead, 2.6 km underground cable), approved by Energimarknadsinspektionen in March 2012. The campus takes two independent utility feeds in a 2N arrangement, one underground and one overhead, into two on-site 130 kV substations. The regional grid has had no high-voltage outage since 1979, so Facebook cut its backup generators by more than 70% against its U.S. designs. Supply is hydropower from the Lule River. In 2018 Meta signed PPAs for three Norwegian wind farms in Bjerkreim (294 MW), with Vattenfall handling delivery and balancing, to serve Luleå and Odense.

Design and construction. The buildings cool with 100% outside air plus evaporative backup and run Open Compute hardware; Meta reported an early PUE of about 1.07. NCC, DPR Construction and Fortis Construction built the first building. The second was the first use of Facebook's Rapid Deployment Data Center design, with about 250 factory-built modules from Emerson Network Power. John Sisk & Son built the third, Meta's largest outside the U.S. when it was announced in 2018.
