Gotspace Data Partners: Wallingford data centers delayed after council postpones vote

Jun 10, 2021 | Posted by Eric Bell

Gotspace Data Partners' plans to build data centers in Wallingford have been delayed, following the Town Council's postponement of voting on a host agreement on Tuesday.

If signed, it could generate up to $1.5 million yearly in new tax revenue. This postponement comes after council members stated they wanted more time to find out more information about the project.

Janis M. Small, Wallingford's legal counsel, has said that there are concerns around noise and traffic generation coming from the data centers. Meanwhile, Councilor Christina Tatta noted that it's a "serious decision" which the town will have to commit to for 30 years and that she "didn't feel" voting until everything is finalized.

According to Thomas Quinn, one of Gotspace's owners, one site will generate $6 million a year.
