Following a series of delays, Wallingford council has revealed its revised host agreement with Gotspace Data Partners, the tech company that seeks to build a number of facilities on two properties in the town. The revised agreement comes as the council voted five to 4 for its approval.
Gotspace will potentially build two data center campuses; one is 205 acres, while the other is 138 acres. As part of the agreement, the facilities, when built, must measure 45 ft tall or under, and street-facing buildings will also be required to comply with town regulations on color, fencing and light fixtures.
As stipulated in the agreement, host fees for each building with a capacity of 32 MW, or above, would be $1.5 million a year. Buildings with a capacity of 16MW or below would see a $500,000 annual host fee. According to The Record-Journal, “conceptual plans” reveal that 10 data center buildings would potentially fit on the properties.
