Virtus, a data center company in the United Kingdom, has hired JLL to manage its centers. This week, JLL confirmed that it had been selected to provide complete facilities management expertise for all of its UK data center facilities. Neil Cresswell, the CEO of Virtus, stated that this is an exciting time for the company as they continue to flourish, and they are seeking partners to support them in this endeavor. He stated that they are thrilled to have JLL on board to assist Virtus in continuing to provide exceptional service to their clients in the United Kingdom, thereby contributing to their service efficiency and zero-downtime objectives.
Virtus runs eleven data centers on four locations in Greater London, totaling 828,825 square feet and 178 megawatts (MW) of power. JLL stated that it will support Virtus by providing safety, technical, and operational effectiveness, risk management, and best-in-class technology. Jonathan Kinsey, director of data center services for EMEA at JLL, noted that as the globe evolves toward a more digital future, data center activity continues to increase. He added that they were thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with Virtus to generate scale and growth potential, allowing them to continue to provide excellent customer service.
In June 2015, STT GDC acquired nearly half of Virtus from Brockton Capital and converted the company into a wholly-owned unit in 2017. Recently, Macquarie Asset Management acquired a 40% interest in the UK operator. Virtus has previously stated that it is considering an additional 100MW of projects across the United Kingdom and Europe.
