Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) has announced proposals for a data center located in Richmond, Virginia, at 707 W. Broad St. The planned facility will span 30,000-square-foot (2,800 sqm).

According to reports, the data center will cost around $42-44 million and will be divided between both University and state, and, if all goes to plan, could be underway by spring, and potentially completed by winter 2023.

VCU Vice President for Administration Meredith Weiss said: “We’re looking at this as an opportunity to consolidate our facilities folks as well, who are in the facilities building on the corner of Pine and Grace that will eventually be coming down for a new honors facility.”
