Verizon has announced that it is expanding its digital footprint with the addition of a second data center in Colorado Springs. The company has submitted a proposal for a 49,000 square-foot (4,500 sqm) data center on Arrowswest Drive in El Paso County, with plans for a potential second phase for an additional 17,000 sq ft (1,600 sqm).
Further details about the data center, including how many people the facility will employ, completion and opening dates have not yet been released.
FedEx, Hewlett-Packard, Progressive, SAP and Walmart, and more all have major facilities in the area.
