Vantage Data Centers has announced that it has broken ground on additional campuses in two of its existing strategic EMEA markets in both Frankfurt and Berlin. The Berlin campus will have 32MW of critical IT capacity and is due to be operational in the summer of 2022. Meanwhile, the Frankfurt campus is located in Raunheim and will provide 40MW of critical IT capacity spanning over 355,000 square feet (33,000 square meters) in its final form. Delivery is due in the fall of 2022. Once complete, both campuses will offer 64MW of IT capacity.

Sustainability and environmental responsibility will reportedly be at the heart of the construction, while the campuses themselves will have hyper-efficient cooling using minimal water." Its design features will also have an 'industry-leading' power usage effectiveness (PUE) and a water usage efficiency (WUE) of "virtually zero".

Antoine Boniface, president, Vantage EMEA, commented: "Our new developments in Frankfurt and Berlin are testaments to our significant growth throughout EMEA in less than 24 months in the market. Our portfolio now consists of nine campuses throughout EMEA, including our recently announced development in South Africa."

He added: "Demand from our customers continues to increase in these major economic centers, and our ability to scale quickly ensures our sustainable, state-of-the-art facilities will be ready to meet our customers' business needs."
