This week, Amazon secured two solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in Japan.The first deal is a 20-year PPA with EDP Renewables APAC, a subsidiary of EDP-Energias de Portugal and the second deal is another 20-year PPA with X-Elio in Japan for the full capacity of the 14MW Funaki solar plant. 
 
The Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) also voted to approve a new rule that allows new large-load Georgia Power customers using more than 100MW of electricity to be billed based on the risks associated with their projects. Data centers will now pay the transmission and distribution costs incurred as their construction progresses. 

Southeastern European telco firm United Group also invested $125.1 million to support the development of three solar power plants and a wind farm in Bulgaria with a combined capacity of 124MW. The first solar plant, located near Stara Zagora, while the other two projects are in development and will be built near Kyustendil and Vidin, the Vidin plant being the largest solar plant planned by the group. 

Belgium financial services company Euroclear this week signed a seven-year cloud deal with Microsoft.  Following the terms of the new agreement, Euroclear will use Microsoft's technology and cloud services to strengthen its technology infrastructure.  The financial service company will develop a financial data-sharing platform, bring AI into its Euroclear FundsPlace to improve customer experience.

The Andhra Pradesh government is set to develop a 500-acre “Data City” in Visakhapatnam, India which will be located in Madhurawada and built to replicate Hyderabad’s HITEC City. This local government has been focused on establishing the city of Visakhapatnam as a technology hub by offering modern infrastructure and high-speed Internet.
