The Department of Tax Information Technology (DIT) of Spain has been awarded $76.2 million for a new headquarters in Madrid, which will include a new on-premises data center. The facility will be located at 480 Calle Alcala and will contain the DIT, allowing for the creation, installation, and maintenance of the essential IT systems for the administration of the Agencia Estatal de Administración Tributaria (AEAT).
Currently, the DIT is dispersed over four distinct locations. Per a report, the new headquarters is meant to facilitate more effective internal organizational adjustments and will open up three of the buildings currently used by the department. The study goes on to add that the development of the new facility will greatly improve the Data Processing Center's technical circumstances. The headquarters will consist of two structures totaling 118,800 square feet. Two-thirds of this will serve as office space for an eight-story structure. The remaining third of the property will be dedicated to the four-story data processing center. The Material Execution Budget (MEB) is anticipated to reach $64.2 million, while the overall contract value approaches $76.2 million.
Additionally, the research addresses the complications connected with building data centers. In addition to serving the office areas, the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems of this building must service a vast and complicated data processing center. The provision of air-con, refrigeration, venting, power, and controls will consume 37.12% of the MEB. The anticipated capacity of the data center, as well as the hardware that will be utilized, as well as the anticipated construction start and completion dates have not been published.
