Nautilus Data Technologies has announced a partnership with Raimon Land, a Thai luxury property developer. According to the agreement, Raimon Land will use Nautilus’ water-cooled data center architecture to develop data centers in Thailand. Raimon will also expand the developments to neighboring data center markets like the Philippines. This will be Raimon’s first involvement in data centers as it is primarily known for developing ultra-luxury homes.
Nautilus first announced its presence with floating data centers cooled by water. However, it has now implemented the water-cooling techniques in land-based data centers. The cooling technique will be used in its $300 million water-cooled facility in Penobscott, Maine. According to Nautilus, its cooling technique eliminates water consumption, toxic refrigerant use, and wastewater production and reduces energy costs.
Raimon Land’s Chief Operating Officer, Stephane Michel, said the company is happy to venture into data center development. He added that the company’s experience in real estate would be vital for its success. The company will be revealing the location of its first facility between now and 2023.
