The Minnesota St. Louis Park City Council has approved a conditional use permit (CUP) for constructing a data center at 6400 Walker Street. Information from the district’s website reveals that the new center will be built southeast of the football field and next to an existing maintenance building.

According to the proposed floor plans in the application, the new campus will cover about 5,850 square feet, making up for office space, storage rooms, repair sections, and an electrical room. Other changes at the site will include a new underground stormwater treatment system, new plantings and landscaping, and a new playground.

A report sent by the associate planner with the city of St. Louis Park, Jacqueline Kramer, to the City Council noted that the project scheduled to start in the fall or early winter of 2023 would take 16 months before its completion. Upon completion, the campus will have about 12 staff members, half of which can work remotely.
