Sonic Edge has announced a partnership with Deep Green to launch 50 HPC/EdgePods at locations across the UK this year and in early 2024.

According to the company, these 50 deployments will range from 50kW to 2MW, while the partnership with Deep Green will power them with low-cost, carbon-free energy sources and reduce the overall capex of HPC operations.

Speaking about this move, the company said: "Sonic Edge has partnered with Deep Green to offer customers extremely low power costs for High Capacity Computing using the benefits of immersion cooling technology."

The company uses immersion cooling as a more environmentally friendly approach to cooling its data centers, reducing energy consumption.

Stuart Priest, formerly Rittal and Panduit and founder of Sonic Edge, commented: "We believe the launch of our HPC data center estate across the UK is a significant development for the UK's HPC market, allowing customers to access high-performance computing at a much lower cost than traditionally has been the case with a greatly reduced environmental impact."

Deep Green recently hit international headlines with its pool-heating data center technology deployed in UK swimming pools.
