The company acquired the Briscoe Wind Farm for $53 million, which is located adjacent to its Project Dorothy sites, where it currently operates two data centers, Dorothy 1 and Dorothy 2. The third facility, Dorothy 3, is slated for development on a 300-acre land parcel located next to the other two facilities. The project is expected to be powered both by the wind farm and through a firm grid connection.

“This closing is a transformative step in Soluna’s evolution,” said John Belizaire, CEO of Soluna.

“Energy sovereignty is the key durable moat in the AI infrastructure race. By owning the Briscoe Wind Farm, we have secured the cornerstone infrastructure needed to build an AI campus with up to 300MW of capacity. This acquisition delivers on our founding vision: building a utility-scale digital infrastructure company powered by its own renewable energy,” he continued.

According to the company, the data center will support high-performance computing and generative AI workloads, though a firm development timeline has not been disclosed. Soluna is a cryptocurrency mining firm that primarily leverages renewable energy projects as its power source. The company currently has 123MW of operational capacity and 11 data center sites at various stages of development.

Soluna has 12 sites.
