SDN Communications has announced that it is expanding its data center located at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The US broadband provider will add a 25,000 square foot (2,320 square meter) pod to the existing structure. This will increase the total space to 50,000 square feet. According to SDN, the work for the expansion started in the Fall of 2021. The company is also looking for tenants.
The CEO of SDN, Ryan Punt, said the company has enough capacity in its colocation space for carriers involved in data delivery services. However, he added that other businesses will only get space at the facility when the expansion is completed. SDN was established in 1989. It also operates over 50,000 miles of fiber across eight states, including North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, and Colorado.
