UK Edge data center firm Pulsant  this week announced it had acquired data centers in Birmingham and Fareham from technology solutions and services provider SCC. The deal includes the facilities, facilities teams, and colocation clients.

The Cole Valley facility, located at 20 Westwood Avenue in the Tyseley area of Birmingham, offers around 2MW across 25,000 sq ft (2,320 sqm) of white space, with potential for expansion, while the Fareham facility, at 18 Brunel Way, offers 3MW across 25,000 sq ft of white space.

Rob Coupland, CEO of Pulsant, said: "With the addition of two new data centers, we’ve expanded our UK coverage, strengthening our presence near key economic hubs that have traditionally been underserved in terms of digital infrastructure—particularly Birmingham, the UK’s second city. SCC has an outstanding reputation, and we’re delighted to partner with them to support clients with their future colocation requirements. We are also excited to welcome the new team members, working together to deliver high availability services."

James Rigby, co-CEO of SCC, added: “SCC has been carefully reviewing options for the future of our data center for some time. A clear priority was to find a specialist partner that will continue to invest in and operate these facilities for the long-term and with whom we can build a strategic relationship for the provision of these services to our clients. Pulsant’s expertise and commitment to growing its UK data center footprint made them the ideal choice, and we look forward to working closely with Pulsant during this transition. We are delighted that this transaction further allows us to invest in our managed service hybrid offerings and to create a new and valued partnership with Pulsant for critical co-location services.”
