Princeton Digital Group (PDG) has announced that it is investing $150 million to build a data center in Indonesia. The facility (Jakarta Cibitung- JC2) will have 22MW of power, and it will be built in the same campus that hosts PDG’s JC1 data center. Upon completion, the facility can still be expanded to a 35MW capacity to serve enterprises, domestic internet companies, and global cloud companies. According to PDG, the JC2 facility will be ready by Q4 of 2022.
PDG first announced in 2019 that it would build a new hyperscale data center in Indonesia. This proposed data center is PDG keeping its promise. CEO of PDG, Rangu Salgame, noted that the Asia Pacific region is poised to be the largest data center market globally. He also added that the investment in Indonesia shows the Company’s goal of being the market leader in the region.
